According to data released by China Customs, the country imported 170,000 tons of sugar in December, with an increase of 40,000 tons on the year.

　　From January to December 2018, China imported 2.8 million tons of sugar, with an increase of 500,000 tons on the year.

　　In the 2018/19 season, China's cumulative sugar imports stood at 0.85 million tons,with an increase of 390,000 tons on the year.
